Movie Show Booking in Odoo
In the movie show booking system, first the movies are set up with complete details including the movie name, cast, crew, language, duration, and the number of days it will be screened. After that, slots are created for each movie on a date-wise basis, where each slot is assigned to a specific screen. Every screen is configured with different types of seats such as Classic or Sofa, and ticket types can also be defined. All these configurations—including crew, cast, language, screen, seat type, and ticket type—can be managed and adjusted in the system settings. On the dashboard, when a user selects a date, the available movies for that date are displayed. Once a movie is chosen, the related slots are shown, and based on the slot selection, the screen and its seat layout are loaded. The user can then select seats, after which a booking summary appears showing all details such as the movie, slot, screen, seat type, and ticket type. During the booking process, the customer’s name, mobile number, and email are collected, and the ticket is sent via email. A sale order is also automatically created, and the ticket can be printed directly from the system. For administration and analysis, reports can be generated and printed on the basis of movie-wise or date-wise bookings.

In the Movie Show Management section, screens are configured by type (e.g., 2D, 3D), along with the types of seats available and their respective prices. The seat layout is defined, including the number of seats per row and the overall arrangement, allowing precise control over screen seating and pricing.

Movie Details
In the Movie Details section, all information about a movie is maintained, including release date, duration, cast and crew, certificate, genre (e.g., action, drama), poster, additional images, and description. It also shows the number of shows for the movie on each day. This information can be easily viewed and managed using tree, form, and kanban views.

Reporting
In the reporting section, users can generate analysis reports movie-wise and date-wise. For each show, the report displays the total seats, the number of seats booked, and the number of seats available. It also provides a breakdown by seat type, showing how many seats of each type are booked and vacant, allowing comprehensive monitoring of bookings and seat availability.
