POS Combo Products — Enhanced Multi-Select in Odoo
The POS Combo Products — Enhanced Multi-Select module is a powerful extension for Odoo that revolutionizes how combo products are handled in the Point of Sale. While standard Odoo allows only one selection per combo group, this module introduces flexible selection rules including multi-select capabilities, optional groups, and specific minimum/maximum quantity constraints. It's designed to cater to complex product bundles, meal deals, and customizable items where customers need the freedom to pick multiple options or skip certain parts of a combo entirely.
Features
- Multi-Select Combo Groups – Allows customers to select multiple items from the same combo group (e.g., picking 3 different toppings).
- Optional Combo Groups – Make any combo group optional by setting the minimum selection to zero.
- Min / Max Quantity Rules – Define exactly how many items must be selected and the maximum allowed per group for precise control.
- Live Selection Counter – Displays a real-time "X / Y selected" badge in the POS popup to guide cashiers through the selection process.
- Visual Hints & Guidance – Clear text labels explain the specific selection requirements for each combo group.
- Smart Input Switching – Automatically uses radio buttons for standard groups and checkboxes for multi-select/optional groups.
- Validation Protection – Disables extra selections once the maximum is reached and ensures minimums are met before adding to the order.
Create and Define Combo Products
Navigate to Point of Sale > Products > Products and create a new product with Product Type "Combo". In the "Combo Choices" tab, add your desired combo groups and products.
Configure Multi-Select and Min/Max Rules
Open a specific combo group to define its selection logic. Set the Minimum Selections (set 0 for optional) and Maximum Selections (>1 for multi-select) to control customer choices.
Live Selection Guidance in POS
When a combo is selected in the POS, the configurator popup displays clear Selection Hints and a Live Counter Badge to guide the cashier through the required choices.
Selection Validation & Protection
Overflow protection prevents selecting more than the allowed maximum, and the "Add to order" button remains disabled until all group minimum requirements are satisfied.
