POS Takeaway Order Management in Odoo
The POS Takeaway Order Management module is an essential extension for Odoo Point of Sale, specifically designed to streamline takeaway and pickup operations for restaurants, cafes, and bakeries. It enhances the native Odoo Eat-in/Takeaway functionality by introducing a structured workflow for capturing vital customer details, managing pickup schedules, and assigning token numbers. By automating the collection of takeaway-specific information like customer names, contact numbers, and special preparation instructions, this module ensures that every takeaway order is processed with precision, reducing wait times and improving service quality for busy food and beverage establishments.

- Enhanced Receipt Printing – Automatically include token numbers and customer details on both customer and kitchen receipts.
- Backend Order Tracking – All takeaway details are synced and visible on POS orders in the backend for reporting.
Enable Takeaway Mode
Navigate to Point of Sale > Configuration > Settings. Locate and check the "Eat-in/Takeaway" option to activate the takeaway feature for your POS session.
Capture Customer Details
When an order is toggled to Takeaway, a dedicated information popup appears. Record the Customer Name and Mobile Number for better tracking.
Set Pickup Time & Token
In the same popup, specify the scheduled Pickup Time. A Token Number is automatically assigned to help manage the order queue effectively.
Enhanced Receipt Printing
Once the order is validated, the Token Number, Pickup Time, and Customer Info are clearly printed on the receipt for both customers and kitchen staff.
Backend Order Tracking
All takeaway-specific details are synced and visible directly on the POS Order in the backend for comprehensive reporting and order management.
