reCAPTCHA Base Snippet Odoo App puts a Google reCAPTCHA "I'm not a robot" checkbox on your website pages as a drag-and-drop building block, so you can add it to a contact form or any other form yourself without touching code.

You enter your Google site and secret keys once in Website settings, and a link there takes you straight to Google to create them. Then, in the website editor, drag the reCAPTCHA block from the Blocks panel to wherever you want it near your form. On the live page the form's Submit button stays greyed out until the visitor ticks the checkbox, and anyone who tries to send the form early is asked to confirm first. If the check times out, the button locks again.

You can match the checkbox to your design by choosing a light or dark theme and a normal or compact size in the editor sidebar. It suits any site owner who wants a visible human check on public forms and would rather place it themselves than ask a developer.

Keys In Website Settings

Setup Reminder On The Block

If the keys are not filled in yet, the block shows a clear notice instead of quietly showing nothing.

Each company keeps its own reCAPTCHA keys, so separate businesses in one database can use their own accounts.

Turn On reCAPTCHA In Website Settings

A reCaptcha section is added to your Website settings. Tick Enable reCAPTCHA, then fill in the site key and secret key. The link below them opens Google's page where the keys are created.

Register Your Site With Google

On Google's side you give the site a label, choose the Challenge (v2) type with the "I'm not a robot" checkbox, list the domains it will run on, and submit.

Copy Your Site And Secret Keys

Google then shows the site key and the secret key. Copy both, ready to paste back into your Website settings in Odoo.

Both keys pasted into the reCaptcha section and saved. From this point the checkbox on your pages uses these keys.

Drag The Block Onto Your Page

In the website editor the reCAPTCHA block appears in the Blocks panel. Drag it onto the page where you want it, next to the form's Submit button.

Submit Stays Locked Until Checked

On the published page the checkbox sits below the form and the Submit button is greyed out. A visitor who clicks Submit before ticking it is asked to confirm they are not a robot first.

Once the visitor ticks the checkbox and it turns green, the Submit button becomes clickable and the form can be sent.
