EU Public Holidays & Working-Time Calendar Pack
National public holidays for 11 EU member states, with weekend-substitution rules, fed straight into your Odoo working-time calendars
EU Public Holidays is a data and configuration pack that fills your Odoo working-time calendars with the official national public holidays of eleven EU member states, and rebuilds those calendars' weekly attendance from standard European week patterns. Every holiday is materialised from a published statutory rule â fixed-date feasts, Easter-relative movable feasts computed with the Gregorian computus, and special statutory observance rules (Ireland's St Brigid's Day and Monday bank holidays, Sweden's Midsummer and All Saints' Saturdays). The pack pushes each holiday into the calendar as a global leave, so it automatically reduces working days for Time Off, contracts and resource planning. Built on the Community Resource app â no Enterprise modules required. Compatible with Odoo 18 and Odoo 19.
Eleven EU countries, nationwide holidays only
Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, Austria, Poland, Portugal and Sweden. Only nationwide public holidays are encoded â regional-only feasts are deliberately excluded so every figure is unambiguous and verifiable against the official calendar.
Gregorian Easter computus
Movable feasts (Good Friday, Easter Monday, Ascension, Whit Sunday, Whit Monday, Corpus Christi) are computed for any year with the standard Anonymous Gregorian algorithm. No hard-coded date tables that expire â the dates are correct for past and future years alike.
Weekend day-in-lieu substitution
Choose the statutory default per country, force substitution, or never substitute. When a holiday lands on a Saturday or Sunday and the country grants a day in lieu (e.g. Ireland's bank holidays), the pack moves it to the next free working day and never lets two substitute days collide on the same date.
Standard EU working-time patterns
Rebuild a calendar's weekly attendance from a ready template: 40h (5 Ã 8), 38h, France 35h, a compressed 4 Ã 10 week, or a 20h part-time morning week â each split into morning/afternoon sessions around a lunch break and checked against the EU Working Time Directive ceilings.
How it works
Open EU Holidays → Generate Holidays, pick a country and a year range, and the pack creates a holiday set, materialises every public-holiday occurrence, pushes them into a working-time calendar as global leaves and (optionally) applies a standard EU week pattern â in a single confirmation. Each holiday line records both its published calendar date and the date actually observed, the weekday it falls on, whether it was substituted and whether it lands on a working day.
