ISO 9001 – Advanced Nonconformity Management
Detect · Contain · Analyse · Correct · Prevent
A structured, native Odoo workflow for managing nonconformities in compliance with ISO 9001. From detection to closure, every step is traceable, assignable and reportable.
Start simple. Add depth when you need it.
You can start using the module immediately with just two things: a nonconformity and an action list. Root causes can be noted directly on the nonconformity record.
Whenever a nonconformity requires deeper investigation, you can open one or more analyses directly from the nonconformity form — independently, and without duplicating any data:
- 5 Whys — quick iterative root cause chain
- Ishikawa (Fishbone) — cause identification across 6M branches
- 8D Analysis — full eight discipline structured problem solving
Nonconformity management
Register and track nonconformities and their related data.
- Configurable nonconformity types (Internal, Customer, Supplier, …)
- Severity classification: Low, Medium, High, Critical
- Team members with customizable roles and responsibilities
- Links to sale orders, inventory lots, partners, and more, depending on the installed Odoo modules
Actions — Containment · Correction · Prevention
Each nonconformity can contain actions, classified into three types:
- Containment — immediate measures to limit the impact
- Corrective — eliminate the detected nonconformity
- Preventive — prevent recurrence
Every action has a responsible person, a deadline and its own status. Email notifications help keep the right people informed throughout the process. Additional settings can be configured, such as reminders to create actions, respect their deadlines and check their long-term effectiveness.
Structured Analysis
Three standard analysis methods are natively supported, each accessible from the nonconformity form. They are entirely optional — you can manage nonconformities and actions without using any of them, or combine them freely depending on the complexity of the issue. When used, they integrate natively with the nonconformity structure and the actions, with no duplicate data entry.
5 Whys
Iterative why-chain linked to the nonconformity. Each level has a Why and an Answer field. Any level can be flagged as root cause, which adds it to the nonconformity's root cause list — visible on the nonconformity form, in any linked 8D analysis and in all exported documents.
Ishikawa (Fishbone)
Cause identification across the classic 6M branches: Man, Machine, Method, Material, Measurement, Environment. Individual causes can be flagged as root cause and promoted to the nonconformity's root cause list, just like in the 5 Whys analysis.
8D Analysis
8D (Eight Disciplines) is a structured problem-solving method designed to identify, correct and prevent recurring issues. Actions and root causes linked to the nonconformity — including those captured in any 5 Whys or Ishikawa analysis — are automatically reflected in the 8D form and remain fully editable from there. Once complete, the report can be exported in two ways:
- Standard PDF — a ready-to-send printable report for customers or auditors, generated directly from Odoo.
- Custom Excel export — users can upload their own
.xlsxtemplate and define placeholders that the module fills in automatically, producing an Excel file that matches any required format, whether internal or customer-defined.
Our goal
Companies certified to ISO 9001 spend significant time managing nonconformities on spreadsheets, email threads and disconnected tools. Our goal is to reduce that waste to zero — keeping the rigour of the standard, removing the friction.
