STORY BEHIND THE FEATURE

ODOO BEHAVIOUR

When validating a transfer, Odoo will automatically generate an effective date which is the date at which you validate the transfer. This overlooks the actual delivery date, thus failing to accurately represent the reality of the situation.

CLUEDOO BEHAVIOUR

Cluedoo allows you to adjust the effective date by specifying a value for the force delivery date, which aligns production order records with actual operations.

COMPARISON: ODOO AND CLUEDOO

Odoo sets the effective date of an operation based on the validation time, which may not reflect the actual delivery date. It also doesn’t propagate this date to related documents. In contrast, Cluedoo lets users set a Force Delivery Date on the Production Order, which is then inherited by related Manufacturing Orders. This ensures better accuracy and alignment between system data and real-world operations.

BUSINESS CASE

In many manufacturing or subcontracting operations, the actual delivery date of components or products is not the same as the system validation date. For example, a production order may be confirmed today, but delivery is expected in a week. Without the ability to manually adjust the effective date, this discrepancy leads to inaccurate reporting, planning, and analytics — especially for project-based manufacturing or time-sensitive operations.
