STORY BEHIND THE FEATURES
ODOO'S FUNCTIONS
Odoo does not provide any default product category structure. So, when you begin to use Odoo, you know there is some category to give - but it is not mandatory, and it's not obvious to understand the power of this feature. Being one of the main features of the whole system, you need to know how to manage it for your own company.
Cluedoo'S FUNCTIONS
We provide a template in order for you to have a clean departure point to begin your integration. This template is split into two categories:
- Business categories : The top part of the tree, which is Business, directly depends on the nature of your business and your activities, with the target to have a natural approach at the last node. It is important to start your structure with this part of the tree.
- Company categories : For the bottom part of the tree, we propose a generic approach that should cover 80% of your needs in terms of department, overhead costs, and so on. You will have to improve this step by step, but instead of starting with nothing, you begin with a structure approved and validated by customers.

Gives the possibility to solve the problem of product category structure in one click and gives a nice, clean template for the customer in his/her future improvement of the product category structure.
CLUEDOO RECOMMENDATION
- Installation : We recommend to install on 80% of your database, the remaining 20% having already a nice and previously developed structure.
- Best practice : Consult with your company (recommended minimum of 2 hours) to discuss and propose the organization of your new product category structure on the Business side to add value and good communication for your whole project.

HOW TO USE THIS MODULE

Go to Inventory → Configuration → Products → Product Categories.
Fill in the Vendor field.

Go to Purchase and Create a new RFQ. Choose the product from the product categories in Step 1 and select the Vendor. The unit price will change depending on the vendor that is set in the Product Category.
