Allocate freight, duty & insurance across receipts with stock revaluation
When the freight, duty and insurance on an import are not folded into product cost, your margins and stock valuation are simply wrong. This module distributes landed costs across one or more incoming receipts using configurable split methods, spreads each cost line down to the move lines, and revalues the stock valuation layer so inventory carries its true landed cost. Built for UK importers handling post-Brexit customs duty — on Community, without Enterprise.
Key Features
Five allocation bases
Split each cost line by value, quantity, gross weight, volume or an equal split — with automatic fallback to an equal split when a base measure is zero, so allocation never divides by zero.
Multi-receipt documents
Allocate freight, duty and insurance across several incoming receipts in a single landed-cost document, targeting only the storable done moves that should absorb the cost.
Preview before posting
A draft → computed → posted workflow generates a per-product allocation preview, with the rounding residue placed on the last move so totals reconcile exactly.
Automatic revaluation
Posting writes a stock valuation layer per product and adjusts the standard price for average and FIFO products, so the unit cost reflects the added landed cost.
Cost category master
Maintain freight, duty, insurance, handling and other categories, each with a default allocation basis, and seed a draft line per category in one click.
Duty estimator wizard
A helper wizard supports quick HS-based import-duty estimation, and an allocation summary breaks costs down by category and percentage for reporting.
