Subcontract Manufacturing
Issue components to subcontractors, track WIP and roll up landed cost
Native subcontracting is thin and hard to follow once components leave the building. This module adds a clear subcontract order workflow: issue raw components to a subcontractor, track what is out at WIP, receive finished goods back, and roll the component cost plus service charge into the finished product cost.
Key Features
Subcontract Orders
Each order captures the finished product, quantity, subcontractor, component lines and a service charge, tracked in chatter through its lifecycle.
Explode a BoM
Generate component lines automatically from a bill of materials, or add them manually, with per-line quantity, unit cost and subtotal.
Issue & Receive
Confirming issues components as a stock move to the subcontractor location; receiving books finished goods (good and scrap quantities) back in.
WIP Valuation
See the value held at each subcontractor — components issued but not yet returned — in a dedicated per-subcontractor WIP report.
Cost Roll-Up
Unit cost is computed as component cost plus service fee divided by finished quantity, with a cost analysis report per product and subcontractor.
Shortage Check
Before issuing, each component line is checked against on-hand stock and flags a shortage so you never ship out what you do not have.
Clearer Than Native
Turns thin native subcontracting into an explicit order, issue, receive and cost-roll-up workflow your shop floor and finance team can follow.
Real Stock & Cost Moves
Component issues and finished receipts are genuine stock moves, and WIP and unit cost are computed from them — not manually keyed.
