Web Chatter Position & Resize
Customize the Odoo chatter with flexible position change and resize options, allowing better UI control, improved screen utilization and enhanced user experience with adjustable chatter layout and smart interface management.
1. Chatter Position Control
Each user can choose their preferred chatter position directly from the Preferences dialog. Simply select Bottom to place the chatter below the form content or Sided to keep it alongside the form or the setting is saved per user.
2. Expand View & Hide the Chatter
When the chatter is in Sided position, click the Expand View button (⟷) in the breadcrumb bar to instantly hide the chatter panel. This gives your form full-width space for a distraction-free data-entry experience.
3. Shrink View & Full-Width Form
After hiding the chatter, the form stretches to occupy the full screen width. The Shrink View button (↕) in the breadcrumb bar lets you bring the chatter back instantly whenever you need to send a message, log a note or check activities.
4. Drag to Resize the Chatter Width
Grab the divider between the form and the chatter panel and drag it left or right to resize the chatter to any width you prefer. Make the chatter wider for more message space or narrower to give the form more room the layout adjusts live as you drag.
5. Chatter Position Saved Per User
The selected chatter position is saved per user via the Preferences dialog. Set it to Bottom and click Save the layout updates immediately across all form views without requiring any page reload.
