01 How secure is the automated PIN generation?
We use Python’s secrets module, which is designed for cryptographically strong random numbers. This is significantly more secure than standard randomizers. The system also performs a real-time database "uniqueness check" before assignment, ensuring no two employees ever share the same access code.
02 Does this module work on standard tablets and touchscreens?
Absolutely. The interface is built using Odoo’s OWL framework and customized with responsive CSS, specifically optimized for touch interaction. Whether you’re using an iPad, an Android tablet, or a dedicated industrial touchscreen, the buttons, progress bars, and calendar elements are designed for easy "finger-tap" navigation.
03 Can employees see their sensitive contract data?
The module is designed for transparency, but security comes first. Employees can only see their own information (like Job Position or Gross Wage) after a successful PIN entry. Furthermore, the data displayed is a "Summary View"—it provides enough information for the employee to feel informed without exposing full legal documents or sensitive company-wide payroll files.
04 What happens if an employee forgets to clock out?
This is where the Manual Shift Request shines. Instead of the HR manager having to hunt down the employee to fix the record, the employee can simply use the "Manual Shift" button on the kiosk the next morning. They submit the correct time, and it appears in the Odoo backend for manager approval, keeping your attendance logs 100% accurate with minimal effort.
