This module offers a comprehensive solution for managing IT assets, assignments, helpdesk tickets, and credentials, enabling organizations to efficiently track and oversee hardware, software, and network components, while ensuring data security and operational efficiency through role-based access control for IT administrators, officers, and employees.
Key Features of the IT Management Module:
- This module allows organizations to track and manage IT assets, including hardware, software, and network devices. It records essential details such as asset type, serial number, purchase date, warranty expiry, cost, and vendor information. Network-specific details like IP address, MAC address, gateway, and subnet mask can also be stored for network assets.
- IT Officers can assign assets to employees or users, maintaining detailed assignment records that include assignment and return dates, along with the assignment's status, such as Assigned or Returned. Validation ensures that return dates cannot be earlier than the assignment dates.
- Assigned users can raise helpdesk tickets for their assets to report issues or request support. Tickets are prioritized as Low, Medium, High, or Critical, and track statuses like New, In Progress, Resolved, and Closed. Issue descriptions, resolution notes, and ticket history are logged to ensure efficient resolution by IT Officers and Administrators.
- Role-based access control ensures security and proper collaboration. IT Administrators have full access to all records, while IT Officers can manage and assign assets, handle helpdesk tickets, and manage credentials but cannot delete records. Employees or normal users can view only the assets assigned to them and create helpdesk tickets for their assigned assets.
- The module automates daily warranty expiry checks, notifying relevant users when warranties have expired. Sequence generation for asset assignments and helpdesk tickets ensures better organization and traceability.
- Smart buttons on asset records allow users to quickly access related records, such as asset assignments, helpdesk tickets, and linked equipment. The module integrates seamlessly with Odooâs core features like maintenance, user, and employee management, providing organized menus and intuitive views for efficient navigation.
