Overview of the Model
Jordan Data Systems has developed a custom **Contact Sequences** model for Odoo that enables automated sequence generation for contacts (partners) based on the type of partner (Customer, Vendor, or Other). This model streamlines the process of managing contacts by automatically generating unique identifiers based on predefined types, making it easier to track and manage contacts in Odoo.
Key Features
Custom Sequence Types
The model allows the user to define **different sequence types** such as **Customer**, **Vendor**, or **Other**. Each type has a unique prefix to easily identify the contact.
Automatic Sequence Generation
The model automatically generates a **sequence ID** based on the selected partner type, ensuring consistency and avoiding manual errors during the contact creation process.
Button for Sequence Generation
Users can generate a **new contact sequence ID** using a simple button in the contact form, streamlining the process of assigning IDs to contacts.
How It Works
The **Contact Sequences** model introduces a **sequence_type** field in the **res.partner** model (Contacts) that allows users to select the type of partner (Customer, Vendor, or Other). Depending on the selected type, a prefix is applied to the sequence, ensuring that each partner has a unique identifier. Additionally, a button is provided in the contact form to **generate the sequence ID** based on the partner type, and the system will automatically create and assign the ID accordingly.
