    Manage the complete workflow of journal entries within the Accounting module, ensuring a controlled process from review to posting.
  • Configurable Workflow Based on Accounting Journal Settings
    The journal entry workflow is customizable, with its behavior controlled through the Accounting Journal Settings, allowing for flexibility based on specific journal configurations.
  • Journal Entry Review Process
    Journal entries are routed for review to ensure proper validation and compliance with internal controls before further processing.
  • Journal Entry Correction
    Journal entries requiring modifications are flagged for correction, allowing users to make necessary adjustments before approval.
  • Journal Entry Approval Flow
    The system includes a robust approval workflow for journal entries, ensuring that entries are reviewed and authorized before posting.
  • Exclusion of Auto Posted Entries by Odoo
    For documents where Odoo auto posts entries, this app will not interfere with the workflow. The app handles only journal entries that require manual intervention for review, correction, and approval.

Flows explained below:

  • Flow Overview:
    When the "General Entry Approval" option is checked, the following flow is applied to journal entries:
  • 1. Unposted State
    Need Review Button:
    In the Unposted state, you can click the Need Review button to move the journal entry to the Need Review state.
  • 2. Need Review State
    Need Correction Button:
    • Clicking the Need Correction button shows a popup prompting you to correct the journal entry.
    • An email notification is sent to the responsible person for journal entry review.
    Validate Button:
    • Clicking the Validate button moves the journal entry to the Validated state.
  • 3. Need Correction State
    Reset to Draft Button:
    In the Need Correction state, clicking the Reset to Draft button moves the journal entry back to the Unposted state.
  • 4. Validated State
    Post Button:
    In the Validated state, clicking the Post button moves the journal entry to the Posted state.
