Zambia Payroll for Odoo
PAYE bands, NAPSA, NHIMA and the Skills Development Levy — computed per employee
Run statutory Zambian payroll directly in Odoo. This module computes PAYE, NAPSA pension, NHIMA health insurance and the Skills Development Levy for each employee, produces a payroll register (CSV and Excel) and a statutory remittance summary split by collecting agency (ZRA, NAPSA, NHIMA). It is built on the Human Resources app and carries its own payslip and computation models, so it needs no Enterprise payroll. Compatible with Odoo 18 and Odoo 19, Community and Enterprise.
PAYE on editable ZRA bands
Monthly Pay As You Earn on the progressive ZRA 2026 bands (0% up to ZMW 5,100, then 25% / 30% / 37.5%). The first band is the tax-free threshold, and PAYE is charged on taxable pay after the allowable NAPSA pension deduction. The band scale is a fully editable model, so you adjust it whenever the annual Budget changes the rates.
NAPSA pension
National Pension Scheme Authority contributions at 5% employee + 5% employer, capped at the 2026 insurable-earnings ceiling of ZMW 37,236 per month (maximum ZMW 1,861.80 each side). Employees outside the mandatory scheme can be flagged exempt. The employee NAPSA contribution reduces taxable pay for PAYE.
NHIMA health insurance
National Health Insurance contributions at 1% employee + 1% employer of gross monthly earnings, remitted by the employer to NHIMA. NHIMA is not deductible for PAYE and is taken from net pay.
Skills Development Levy
The employer-only Skills Development Levy at 0.5% of gross emoluments is computed per employee and included in the employer cost and the ZRA remittance line, so your total cost-to-company is always accurate.
Payroll run & register
Create a monthly payroll run, populate it from every employee with a gross salary, and compute NAPSA, NHIMA, PAYE, SDL and net pay per employee with run totals. Export the full payroll register to CSV or Excel for your records and bank file preparation.
Statutory remittance summary
A one-click wizard totals PAYE and SDL to ZRA, NAPSA contributions and NHIMA contributions for a run, split by collecting agency, so you know exactly what to remit to each authority every month.
Editable, transparent, and yours to file
Every rate, ceiling and band carries the current Zambian statutory default and is fully editable from the company configuration and the PAYE band model — nothing is hard-coded. The computation engine is pure Python and unit tested. The module produces the statutory figures and the register/summary files; you file them through the ZRA TaxOnline portal, NAPSA and NHIMA with your own credentials. No employee data leaves Odoo and we host nothing on your behalf.
