Barcode Scanner for Odoo 18 — Use Any Phone Camera
Browser-based barcode scanning across Inventory, Sales, Purchase, and Accounting.
No mobile app install. No additional hardware required.
Scan Barcodes Without Leaving the Odoo Form
The Scan button sits in the header of the record you are already working on. Open the camera, scan the barcode, continue the workflow. The product is matched instantly and the scan is logged.
Works on devices your team already has
Any modern phone, tablet, or laptop with a camera becomes a scanner. Deploy to one user or fifty users without procuring dedicated scanning hardware.
Scan 200+ items per shift
Continuous mode keeps the scanner open — scan, beep, haptic, scan again. Designed for warehouse picking, stocktake, and receiving workflows.
Deploy in minutes, not weeks
Install the module, toggle the forms you want, open Odoo on a phone, scan. No app store approval, no MDM rollout, no training session.
Complete Barcode Scanning for Odoo 18
A production-ready scanner integrated into the Odoo forms where scanning actually happens — not a standalone utility.
Camera-Based Scanning in the Browser
Uses the device camera directly through the browser — no native app, no plugin. Works on iPhone Safari 11+, Chrome on Android, and desktop browsers that support WebRTC.
11 Supported Barcode Formats
EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, QR Code, DataMatrix, Aztec, ITF, and PDF-417. Enable only the formats your products use for faster recognition.
Continuous Scanning Mode
Keep the scanner dialog open and scan hundreds of codes in a row. Each successful scan triggers an audible beep and haptic vibration, so users can keep their eyes on the items.
Instant Product Lookup
The product name is resolved and displayed immediately after each successful scan. No spinner, no tab switch — users see whether the barcode matched a product right in the scanner dialog.
Full Scan Audit Log
Every scan is recorded with user, timestamp, target form, barcode value, detected format, and whether a product was matched. Searchable and exportable through the standard Odoo list view.
Integrated into 5 Odoo Modules
Inventory Transfers, Products, Quotations, Purchase Orders, and Invoices. Toggle which forms display the Scan button — admins decide per model in the settings panel.
USB & Bluetooth Scanner Support
USB and Bluetooth scanner guns work out of the box via keyboard emulation. Phone at the counter, hardware scanner in the warehouse — the same scan input flow handles both.
Keyboard & Paste Fallback
When camera access is denied or a device has no camera, users can type or paste the barcode manually. The same product lookup runs, so the workflow never breaks.
One-Click Scan Button
The Scan button is injected directly into the form header — next to Validate, Print, and other record actions. No menu dive, no secondary dialog to navigate.
Beep & Haptic Feedback
Audible beep through the Web Audio API and device vibration on each successful scan. Helps users keep a steady scanning rhythm even when the phone is in a pocket or holster.
Familiar Odoo UX
The Scan button looks and behaves like any standard Odoo action. Users who already know Odoo can use it the moment they see it — no dedicated onboarding session required.
Community & Enterprise Compatible
Runs on both Odoo 18 Community and Enterprise editions with no dependency on Enterprise-only modules. Ships with English and Indonesian translations.
Designed for Real Odoo Workflows
Built from observing how warehouse, retail, and field teams actually move through Odoo records.
Retail Counter
Scan products from a quotation or invoice at checkout using the device already at the counter. Add more registers as traffic grows without provisioning dedicated scanner guns each time.
Warehouse Picking
Continuous mode lets warehouse staff scan 200+ items per shift without reopening the dialog between codes. Works for picking, receiving, internal transfers, and stocktake runs.
Field Service
Scan serial numbers and asset labels on-site from any mobile browser. Works over 4G, no native app install, no VPN tunnel required for the scanning flow itself.
From Install to First Scan in 3 Steps
No mobile app to publish. No hardware to procure. No dedicated training session to schedule.
Install the Module
Install directly from the Odoo Apps interface. A new Barcode Scanner menu entry appears in the main navigation.
Configure the Forms
Toggle which forms show the Scan button. Pick the accepted barcode formats. Enable beep and continuous mode defaults for your team.
Open a Form and Scan
Open Odoo on any modern phone, open an enabled form, click Scan, point the camera at a barcode. The matched product appears immediately.

End-to-end flow: click Scan, match barcode, keep scanning without leaving the form.
The scanner opens as a modal — users stay on the current record.
Instant product lookup with audible beep and haptic feedback on each match.
Scan button placed in the form header — right where standard Odoo actions live.
Admin settings — choose formats, toggle target modules, configure beep and haptics.
Audit log — who scanned what, from which form, and when.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do users need to install a mobile app to scan barcodes?
No. The scanner runs inside the Odoo web interface on any modern mobile browser — Chrome on Android or Safari 11+ on iOS. The only requirement is that the Odoo instance is served over HTTPS, which is needed by the browser to grant camera access.
Does it work with USB and Bluetooth barcode scanners?
Yes. Most USB and Bluetooth barcode scanners act as keyboard-emulation devices — they type the scanned value into the focused input. The Scan dialog accepts keyboard input, so any keyboard-emulating scanner works out of the box alongside the camera scanner.
Which Odoo forms support the Scan button?
Inventory Transfers, Products, Quotations, Purchase Orders, and Invoices. Each target form has an individual toggle in the settings page, so administrators enable only the models where their team actually scans.
What happens when the camera is blocked or unavailable?
A keyboard and paste fallback is always available. Users can type or paste the barcode manually and the same product lookup runs. The workflow continues when camera permission is denied or the device has no camera.
Is Odoo Enterprise required?
No. The module runs on both Odoo 18 Community and Enterprise editions with no dependency on any Enterprise-only module.
Is every scan logged for audit?
Yes. Every scan is recorded with user, timestamp, target form, barcode value, detected format, and matched product. The history is searchable and exportable through the standard Odoo list view.
Does the module send data to any external service?
No. All scanning, decoding, and product matching happens inside the Odoo instance. No external API call, no analytics tracker, no third-party service — only the browser and the Odoo server.
