Why Legion Hide Odoo Tab?
By default, Odoo dynamically updates the browser tab title on every navigation — showing "Apps", "Sales", "Contacts", "Invoices", "Settings" etc. depending on which page the user is on. Legion_hide_odoo_tab locks the browser tab permanently to display only "Odoo" at all times, regardless of which page, menu, or record the user navigates to — creating a clean, consistent, and minimal browser tab experience throughout the entire session.

After installing the module Odoo has been appeared
Hide Odoo from Browser Tab.
This module just lock applies globally across every installed Odoo application including CRM, Accounting, Inventory, and Manufacturing then replace with "Odoo" title after move on every application.
Key Features:
- Permanently Locks Browser Tab to "Odoo":No matter which page, menu, app, or record the user navigates to, the browser tab always displays only "Odoo." Whether the user is on Sales, Invoices, Settings, or a specific customer record, the tab title never changes — providing a completely consistent and distraction-free label across the entire session.
- Overrides Odoo's Dynamic Title System: Odoo has a built-in mechanism that automatically updates the browser tab title on every route change to reflect the current page name. This module neutralizes that system entirely by clearing the internal zopenerp title part via WebClient patch and continuously enforcing the desired title via a fast interval override.
- Zero Configuration Required:Once installed, the module works immediately with no setup, no system parameters, and no backend configuration needed. Administrators simply install the module and every user session from that point forward will see only "Odoo" in their browser tab — no technical knowledge required to operate it.
- Works Across All Odoo Apps and Menus:The title lock applies globally across every installed Odoo application — CRM, Accounting, Inventory, Manufacturing, Website, and all others. There are no exceptions or pages where the original dynamic title breaks through, ensuring complete and uniform coverage throughout the entire Odoo instance.
- Lightweight and Non-Intrusive:The module has minimal footprint — one XML template and one JS patch. It does not modify any core Odoo files, does not add database tables, and does not interfere with any other module's functionality. The setInterval runs in the browser only and has no server-side impact whatsoever.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I change "Odoo" to a custom company name using this same approach?
Yes — simply replace the hardcoded 'Odoo' string in the setInterval with a dynamic value. You could read from session.company_name or a system parameter like session.app_system_name to make the locked title say your brand name (e.g., "MyERP") instead of "Odoo", without changing any other logic in the module.
Does this module affect SEO or website pages?
No. This module only affects the backend WebClient (the Odoo admin/user interface accessed via /odoo/). It does not touch the frontend website or any public-facing pages, so there is zero impact on SEO, website visitors, or the /web portal experience.
Why does Odoo show page names like "Apps" or "Sales" in the tab by default?
Odoo's WebClient has a built-in title service that automatically updates the browser tab with the name of the current menu item or page on every navigation event. This is Odoo's default behavior out of the box — every route change triggers a title update, which is why you see "Apps", "Sales", "Invoices" etc. changing dynamically as you navigate.
