Overtime & Time Bank from Attendance
Detect overtime automatically by comparing daily attendance hours against each employee's scheduled calendar. Approve it, route it to payroll or to a compensatory time bank, let employees consume banked hours later as paid time off, and print a full summary PDF — all from the Attendances app without any external spreadsheet.
⏱ Auto-detection
Wizard compares attendance records vs. the work calendar and creates draft lines for every day with overtime above your threshold.
✅ Approval workflow
HR officers review and approve each line. Draft → Approved → Paid / Compensated with clear status tracking.
🏦 Time bank
Route overtime to a compensatory bank instead of payroll. Employees consume hours later via negative "Time Off Taken" lines.
💰 Payable hours
For paid overtime, configure a pay rate multiplier (1.5×, 2.0×) and the module calculates payable hours ready for your payroll input.
How it works
- Go to Attendances → Overtime → Compute Overtime.
- Select employees and date range — the wizard compares worked hours vs. calendar and creates draft lines automatically.
- HR officers review lines and click Approve. Approved lines update the employee's time bank balance (visible as a smart button on the employee form).
- For paid overtime, mark lines as Paid once processed in payroll.
- When an employee takes compensatory time off, create a negative "Time Off Taken" line which deducts from the bank.
- Print a per-employee overtime summary PDF at any time.
Compatibility
Odoo 18.0 Community Enterprise Requires: Attendances
Technical notes
- Uses the employee's
resource.calendarto determine expected daily hours. Employees without a calendar are skipped. - Time bank balance is computed live from all approved lines — no stored balance that can drift out of sync.
- Employees can view (read-only) their own lines; only HR officers can create, edit or approve.
- This module tracks and manages overtime; it does not post payroll journal entries automatically — use the "Payable Hours" column to feed your payroll process.
