Add a mandatory “I accept the Terms & Conditions” checkbox to the eCommerce checkout payment step. The Pay button stays disabled until the box is ticked, and the payment is rejected on the server if acceptance was not recorded, so it cannot be bypassed. Point the link at your Terms page and add your own wording. One setting, per website. No code and no template editing.

What this module does

Getting an explicit agreement to your Terms & Conditions at checkout protects your store and keeps you compliant. This module drops a required checkbox right next to the Pay button and enforces it two ways, so an order can only be paid once the shopper has genuinely accepted your terms.

● A required checkbox at checkout
A clear “I accept the Terms & Conditions” checkbox appears on the payment step, with a link to your Terms page that opens in a new tab.
● The Pay button is blocked
Until the box is ticked the Pay / Confirm Order button stays disabled, and it re-locks instantly if the shopper unticks it. No confusing errors, just a clear gate.
● Enforced on the server too
The checkout transaction is rejected server-side when acceptance was not recorded, so the requirement cannot be bypassed by editing the page.

How it works

From install to a live compliance gate on your checkout in a few clicks. Everything is configured from Website settings.

  1. Install the module (it depends on website_sale, the Odoo eCommerce app).
  2. Go to Website → Configuration → Settings and open the Terms & Conditions Checkbox section.
  3. Turn on Terms & Conditions Checkbox.
  4. Set the Terms Link (for example /terms) and, optionally, your own Label Text, then Save.
  5. Go through checkout to the payment step: the checkbox appears next to the Pay button, which stays disabled until it is ticked.
  6. If a request tries to pay without accepting, the server rejects the transaction with a clear message.
Note: The checkbox and the block appear only when the feature is enabled, so the module degrades gracefully and changes nothing when it is off. Enforcement runs both in the browser (the Pay button) and on the server (the checkout transaction), and each website has its own switch, link and wording.
