Choose exactly which companies can see a product in a multi-company database. Assign a list of allowed companies per product and the security rule automatically hides it from every other company — no developer changes needed.
Why You Need This
Compare your multi-company product setup before and after installing Nexus Product Company Visibility.
- The native Company field only accepts one company, or none
- A product is either visible to a single company or visible to all of them
- No way to share one product across a subset of companies, e.g. two out of five
- Requires custom development to restrict product visibility properly
- Every product gets a "Visible to Companies" multi-select field
- Pick any combination of companies; the product appears only for those
- Leave it empty and the product stays visible to all companies, exactly like before
- Enforced by a global record rule, so it applies in Sales, POS, Inventory and Manufacturing alike
How It Works
Three simple steps, zero configuration.
1. Open the ProductGo to any product. Find the Visible to Companies field added right below the standard Company field. |
2. Select CompaniesAdd any number of companies as tags. Leave it empty to keep the product visible to everyone. |
3. Done AutomaticallyFrom then on, users active on any other company will never see this product, anywhere in Odoo. |
