The Pos Salesperson Commission module in Odoo provides a comprehensive and flexible solution for managing sales-based incentives. The module integrates seamlessly with the Point of Sale (POS), automatically generating commission records in real time as orders are validated. What is the Salesperson Commission module used for?

It is used to manage and automate salesperson commissions based on POS orders, products, and defined rules.

What types of commission are supported?

The module supports both Percentage-based and Fixed commission types.

Is the module integrated with Point of Sale (POS)?

Yes, it is fully integrated with the POS module, and commissions are generated automatically when orders are validated.

Go to Settings.

To configure the salesperson commission in Odoo, navigate to Users & Companies, then click on Users.

Select the desired user from the list.

Navigate to the Salesperson Commission section, choose the POS Commission Management Rights, set it to Commission Manager, and then click Save.

Now go to the Point of Sale module.

Click Configuration, then click Settings.

Navigate to the Salesperson Commission section, enable Apply Commission, select the Commission Employee, and click Save.

Go to Commissions, click on Commission Rules, and configure the commission rules.

Click the New button to create a Commission Rule.

Set the Salespersons and Products, choose the Commission Type as Percentage, and enter the desired commission amount.

The commission rule Rule-00001 has been created. Now, navigate to the Point of Sale module.

Click on “Open Register” to start a new POS session.

Next, choose the product that was previously specified in the Commission Rule.

Now, click on the three dots (⋮).

Now, click on the Salesperson button.

Now, select the salesperson who was previously chosen in the Commission Rules.

At this point, the salesperson is assigned to the order line. Now, click on the Payment button.

Now, click on the Validate button to confirm the order.

Now, the salesperson is shown on the receipt. Next, go to the backend by clicking the Backend button.

Go to Commissions, click on Commissions.

Now, you can see that the salesperson commission has been created successfully. Next, click on the commission line that was recently created.

Now, you can see the details you selected: Salesperson, Product, and the Amount, which has been calculated based on the commission, commission type, and product price. Next, click on Commissions, then click on Commission Rules.

Click on the commission rule record that was previously created.

Now, set the Commission Type to Fixed, enter your desired commission amount, click the Save button to save the form, and then go to the Point of Sale module.

Click on “Continue Selling” to resume sales in the POS.

Next, choose the product that was previously specified in the Commission Rule.

Now, click on the three dots (⋮).

Now, click on the Salesperson button.

Now, select the salesperson who was previously chosen in the Commission Rules.

At this point, the salesperson is assigned to the order line. Now, click on the Payment button.

Next, choose another product variant that was previously specified in the Commission Rule.

After assigning the salesperson to all the order lines, click the Payment button to proceed with the payment.

Now, click on the Validate button to confirm the order.

Now, the salesperson is shown on the receipt. Next, go to the backend by clicking the Backend button.

Go to Commissions, click on Commissions.

Now, you can see that the commission has been created based on the POS order.

Next, open any commission record to view its details and click on the Paid button.

You can now see that the Expense button is visible.

Click on the Expense button to open the Expense form view.

Now, click on the Expenses button.

You can see that your commission expense has been created in the expense list.

Now, click on the Settings button to navigate to the Settings.

Next, navigate to Users & Companies and click on Users.

Next, select the user record of your choice.

Now, inside the product, select Create and Point of Sale Administrator. In the Salesperson Commission section, set the POS Commission Management Rights to Commission User, click Save, and then log out.

Now, log in with the previously configured user.

Now go to the Point of Sale module.

Go to Commissions, click on Commissions.

You can see that the user can only view the records they created themselves. Now, click on Point of Sale to navigate to the Point of Sale module.

Click on “Open Register” to start a new POS session.

Now, select the product that was configured in the Commission Rules, and click the Add button.

Now, click on the three dots (⋮).

Now, click on the Salesperson button.

Now, select the salesperson who was previously chosen in the Commission Rules.

Now, click on the Payment button.

Now, click on the Validate button to confirm the order.

Now, the salesperson is shown on the receipt. Next, go to the backend by clicking the Backend button.

Go to Commissions, click on Commissions.

Now, you can see that the salesperson commission has been created successfully. Next, click on the commission line that was recently created.

Now, you can see the details you selected: Salesperson, Product, and the Amount, which has been calculated based on the commission, commission type, and product price.Next, click on Commissions, then click on Commission Rules.

Now, click on the Log out button to log out of the session.

Now, log in as the administrator by entering the username and password, then click the Login button.

Now go to the Point of Sale module.

Go to Commissions, click on Commissions.

Now, you can see that the administrator can view all records created by the user.

Click on Reporting, then click on Commission Report.

In the popup, select the start datetime, end datetime, and employee, then click on ‘Generate Report’.

Now you can see that all commissions for the selected employee are shown in the PDF according to the start and end datetime.
