Nonprofit Fund & Grant Accounting brings full fund and grant accounting to nonprofits and NGOs directly on top of Odoo Accounting, no external fund-accounting system required. Tag journal entries with a fund, grant and expense category, let restriction compliance be enforced at posting time, and get budget-vs-actual, fund-based P&L and cash drawdown schedules without leaving the Accounting app.

Restricted & Unrestricted Funds
Define any number of funds as Unrestricted, Temporarily Restricted or Permanently Restricted, each with its own donor-imposed purpose and an explicit list of expense categories it may legally be spent against.
Fund/Grant Tagging on Journal Items
Tag any invoice, bill or manual journal entry line with a Fund, a Grant and an Expense Category directly from the accounting app, right next to the built-in analytic distribution.
Enforced Restriction Compliance
A restricted fund's expense lines are validated against its allowed categories the moment the journal entry is created, so restriction compliance is a database-level constraint, not an after-the-fact report.
Live Fund Balance
Income, expense and net balance for each fund are computed live from every posted journal item tagged to it, including a net position after inter-fund transfers.
Grant Budgets & Spend Tracking
Record each grant's donor, awarded amount and period, break its budget into per-category lines, and see remaining amount, percent spent and an over-budget flag pulled live from posted journal items; budget lines can never exceed the amount awarded.
Fund-Based P&L Wizard
Pick any date range and any subset of funds to instantly build an income/expense/net breakdown per fund plus a grand total, the nonprofit equivalent of a statement of activities.
Cash Drawdown Schedules
Generate a full drawdown schedule for a grant in one click, splitting the awarded amount into equal monthly, quarterly or annual installments, then track each one through Scheduled, Requested, Received or Cancelled with overdue flagging.
Inter-Fund Transfers
Move net assets between funds with a dedicated transfer record that feeds each fund's net position, so releases of restriction or reallocations stay fully auditable.

Nonprofits are held to a stricter accounting standard than a normal business: donor restrictions have to be honored, and grants have to be reported on by category. This module builds that discipline into Odoo's own accounting engine, so restriction violations are caught at posting time and every fund's balance, every grant's budget and every drawdown schedule is one click away instead of a separate spreadsheet.
