Installation

For Odoo Community/Enterprise (On-Premise)

1. Place the module in your Odoo custom addons folder 2. Update app list and install the module 3. Use POS as usual – the system will block negative stock orders

For Odoo Online (SaaS)

1. Download the module zip file 2. Enable Debug Mode (Add ?debug=1 to your URL or Settings → Activate Developer Mode) 3. Go to Apps menu 4. Click "Import Module" from the top menu bar 5. Select the downloaded zip file and upload 6. Click "Install" to install the module 7. Use POS as usual – the system will block negative stock orders

For Odoo.sh

1. Connect to your Odoo.sh repository via Git 2. Add the module to your custom addons directory 3. Push changes to your repository 4. Go to your Odoo.sh database → Apps 5. Update app list and install the module 6. Use POS as usual – the system will block negative stock orders

if i have product 1 and have 02 location A,B / Location A have stock and location B empty and i have session related by location B when i select this product in the session to buy it will stopped me or not ?

Hi Elamir Mohamed Hassan,

Whether you can sell the product depends on the available stock in the session’s assigned warehouse/location.

  • In your example, Product 1 has stock in Location A but Location B is empty.
  • If your POS session is linked to Location B, the system will stop the sale since there is no stock available in that location.
  • The POS always validates against the hand quantity of the selected session location, not other locations.

Hi Baki,


Thank you for your query. Currently, the Prevent Negative Stock in POS app strictly blocks orders if stock is not available. This also applies when using the “Ship Later” option, Meaning that orders cannot be validated if stock is insufficient, even if you plan to deliver later.


The reason is that “Ship Later” allows confirming orders without stock, which directly conflicts with the logic of preventing negative stock.
