Installation

1. Copy the odnt_session_guard folder into your Odoo custom addons directory.
2. Restart the Odoo server.
3. Activate Developer Mode from Settings > General Settings.
4. Navigate to Apps and click Update Apps List.
5. Search for Session Guard Pro and click Install.

Configuration

After installation, navigate to Session Guard Pro > Configutation > Settings to configure:

• Enable Session Guard Pro — Global on/off switch for all logging and alerts.
• Admin CC Email — Enter an email address to receive copies of all login alerts.
• Log Retention Period — Set how many days login logs are kept before auto-deletion (default: 90 days).

Usage

Login Alert Email:

1. Any user logs in to Odoo as normal.
2. Session Guard Pro captures the login event automatically.
3. An alert email is sent instantly to the user with full login details.
4. If the login originates from a new IP address, the email shows an ⚠️ unusual login warning.

Per-User Alert Toggle:

1. Navigate to Settings > Users & Companies > Users.
2. Open any user record.
3. Click the 🔐 Session Guard tab.
4. Toggle Receive Login Alert Emails on or off for that user.

Viewing Login Activity Log:

1. Navigate to the Session Guard Pro main menu.
2. Click Login Activity Log.
3. Browse, search, filter, and group all recorded login events.
4. Rows highlighted in orange indicate unusual logins from new IP addresses.

Login Log Fields

Login Activity Log records the following for every login event:

• User — The Odoo user who logged in.
• Login Time — Exact date and time of the login.
• IP Address — The originating IP address of the login request.
• Device Type — Detected device category: Desktop, Mobile, or Tablet.
• Browser — Detected browser name (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.).
• Unusual Login — Flagged automatically if the IP address is new for that user.
• Alert Sent — Confirms whether the login alert email was dispatched.
• Note — Auto-generated note describing the login status.

Email Alert Contents

Every login alert email includes:

• User full name
• Login date and time
• IP address
• Device type
• Browser name
• Login status badge (Normal or ⚠️ Unusual)
• Security tip and password change reminder

Scheduled Actions

Session Guard Pro – Auto Cleanup Old Login Logs

Runs daily and automatically deletes login log records older than the configured retention period. The retention period is configurable from the Settings panel. Default retention is 90 days.

Security & Access

• Session Guard: User — Can view their own login history from the user profile tab.
• Session Guard: Manager — Full access to the Login Activity Log and all records.
• The admin user is assigned the Manager group automatically on installation.
