Import Product Images from Excel (Using File Path & Web URL) in Odoo
Import Images for Product Templates and Variants in Odoo
- This module enables the import of product images from Excel using both URLs and file paths. It provides a dedicated wizard that allows users to specify whether they want to create a Product Template or a Product in Odoo. Additionally, the wizard offers an option to either create a new product or update an existing product.
- For reference, sample files covering all available options are included in the modules sample directory.
Key Features:
- Supports importing .jpg, .png, .jpeg, and other common image file formats.
- Provides an option to create a new Product or Product Template, selectable via the wizard.
- Allows updating an existing Product or Product Template, based on user selection in the wizard.
- Enables importing images using both file paths from the local directory and web URLs, with the flexibility to use both methods in a single import process.
- Supports importing images via HTTP or HTTPS URLs from Excel. (Note: Google Drive links may not be supported, but other external URLs will work.)
Importing Product Images Using Excel
Create Product Template Image
- To create a Product Template, select "Product Template" as the model and "Create Product" as the operation in the wizard.
- The Excel file (.xls) should include columns such as Product Name, Product Reference Code, and Image Path.
Create Product Variant Image
- To create a Product Variant, select "Product" as the model and "Create Product" as the operation in the wizard.
- The Excel file (.xls) should include columns such as Product Name, Product Reference Code, and Image Path.
Update Product Template Image
- To update an existing Product Template, select "Product Template" as the model and "Update Product" as the operation in the wizard.
- The Excel file (.xls) should contain Product Name or Product Reference Code along with the Image Path.
Update Product Variant Image
- To update an existing Product Variant, select "Product" as the model and "Update Product" as the operation in the wizard.
- The Excel file (.xls) should contain Product Name or Product Reference Code along with the Image Path.

File must be in .xls or .xlsx file.
Make sure you have xlrd Python library installed.
