Dedicated menus list only the current active quotations and RFQs, hiding superseded revisions from daily work.

Enable per application

Turn revisions on or off for Sales and for Purchase independently, right from the Settings screen.

User guide

Install the module, enable revisions from Settings, then create and track versions of your Sales and Purchase Orders in a few clicks.

1. Install the module

  1. Open Apps, remove the Apps filter, and search Sale & Purchase Order Revision.
  2. Click Install.

2. Enable revisions

  1. Go to Settings and open the Sale & Purchase Revision section.
  2. Turn on Sale Order Revision and/or Purchase Order Revision.
  3. Click Save.

3. Create a revision of a sales order

  1. Open any Sales Order or Quotation.
  2. Click Create Revision.
  3. Enter the reason for the revision and confirm.
  4. A new version is created and numbered automatically (R1, R2, …).

4. Create a revision of a purchase order

  1. Open any Purchase Order or RFQ.
  2. Click Create Revision, enter the reason and confirm.
  3. The new version keeps all lines and details ready for you to edit.

5. Review revisions and pending documents

  • Use the Revisions smart button on the order to see every version and its number.
  • Open the Pending Quotations or Pending RFQs menu to work only with the current active documents.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does creating a revision change the original order?
No. The original order is kept as-is. A revision is a new version, so you always have the complete history of every change.
2. How are revisions numbered?
Automatically. Each new version receives the next number in sequence (R1, R2, R3 …) so the latest revision is always easy to spot.
3. Can I record why a revision was made?
Yes. You enter a reason each time you create a revision, and it is logged in the order chatter for a clear audit trail.
4. How do I know which version is the active one?
The most recent revision is marked as completed while previous ones become pending. The Pending menus also list only the active documents.
5. Can I use revisions for both Sales and Purchase?
Yes. Sales Order revisions and Purchase Order revisions can be enabled independently from the Settings screen.
6. Where can I see all the versions of an order?
A Revisions smart button on the order form shows the total count and opens the list of every linked version.
7. Is it compatible with Odoo 18?
Yes. This module targets Odoo 18 and works with the standard Sales and Purchase applications.
