Follow these simple steps to get started and make the most of our app's powerful features!
Step 1: Install & Activate the App
Add the module to your Odoo addons path, update the app list, search for All in One Sticky Notes, and click Activate to start using the app.
Step 2: Open Sticky Notes Menu
Navigate to Sticky Notes from the main menu to see all notes. This menu allows you to create, edit, and manage your notes in one place.
Step 3: Create a New Note
Click the Sticky Note icon in any view to open the creation popup. Enter a Title, choose a Color, and add your note content using rich text.
Step 4: Set Visibility & Permissions
Configure your note based on who should see or edit it:
- Global: Display the note in all views. If unchecked, it appears only in the view where it was created.
- Public: Make the note visible to other users. Private notes are visible only to the creator.
- Allowed Users: If selected, only these users can see the note. Leave empty to share with all.
- Can Edit & Delete: Enable this to let other users modify or remove the note. Creators always have full control.
Step 5: View, Edit & Delete Notes
Sticky Notes View (Across all views)
Notes are displayed in a Kanban view. Actions (View, Edit, Delete) appear based on user permissions.
View Note (Read-Only)
Click View to open the note in a read-only popup. Useful for quick reference without changing data.
Edit Note
Click Edit to modify the title, content, or color. Users with edit permissions can update the note, and the creator always has full access.
Delete Note (Confirmation)
Click Delete to remove a note. A confirmation popup prevents accidental deletion. Only users with delete permissions and the creator can delete notes.
Step 6: Track Viewed Notes
For Public Notes, you can see which users have already viewed them. This helps track team engagement and ensures important information is seen.
Step 7: Private & Public Notes
Private Note (Creator Only)
This note is Private and visible only to the creator. Global is disabled, so it appears only in the view where it was created.
Other User View (Private Note Hidden)
Another user cannot see the private note in the same view. Permissions prevent access to notes they did not create.
Public Note (Read-Only)
Public notes are visible to other users. If Edit & Delete is disabled, the note can only be viewed in read-only mode.
Step 8: View Full Details & Go to Source
Open a note in Form View to see all details, including title, content, color, permissions, and users who have seen it. Use the Go to Source button to navigate directly to the view where the note was created.
