Step 1: Install the App
Add the module to your Odoo addons path, update the app list, search for Classic Edit & Save Mode, and click Install. Once installed, it is ready to use - no further setup is required.
Step 2: Open Any Form View
Open a form in Odoo, such as a Customer, Invoice, or Product form. All fields will initially be readonly to prevent accidental changes.
Step 3: Use the Edit Button
Click the Edit button at the top of the form to enable editing of all fields. After making changes, the Save and Discard buttons appear for controlled updates.
Step 4: Save or Discard Changes
After editing, click Save to commit your changes or Discard to revert them. The form automatically returns to readonly mode after saving or discarding.
Step 5: Prevent Accidental Changes
If you try to navigate away with unsaved changes, a confirmation popup appears asking whether to Save or Discard. This ensures no accidental edits are lost or saved unintentionally.
