PayFast Payment Provider
Accept payments through PayFast (South Africa) in Odoo 18. Works out-of-the-box for eCommerce, Sales Orders, POS, and can be used alongside hospitality/booking workflows.

Fast setup
Configure your Merchant ID and Merchant Key, then enable the provider.

Customer identification
Sends the buyer’s email to PayFast. If missing, checkout is blocked with a clear message.

No mobile sent
Mobile number is not passed to PayFast (avoids strict country-code formatting issues).

Configuration

1) Enter credentials
Open Payment Providers, select PayFast, and fill:
Merchant ID and Merchant Key.

2) Enable (Test / Enabled)
Switch provider state to Test to use PayFast sandbox, or Enabled for production.

Notes
- Email requirement: PayFast needs a buyer email. We try fallbacks (customer email, invoice contact, delivery contact, logged-in user). If still missing, payment won’t proceed.
- No mobile: We intentionally don’t send mobile/cell number to avoid PayFast country code strictness.
PayFast + OH! Booking System
Optional: If you run OH! Booking System for hospitality, PayFast can also be used as part of the guest journey (quotes, deposits, and online payments). This payment provider remains a general-purpose PayFast integration and works perfectly without OH!.
