Usage Instructions
- Install the module from Odoo Apps or add it to your custom addons folder.
- Navigate to Accounting → Configuration → Settings and configure the Currency Rate Provider and API keys.
- For manual exchange rates, enable Apply Manual Currency in the sale or purchase or invoice or bill form.
- Click Fetch Rate on invoices or sales orders to retrieve the latest or historical rates.
- Odoo automatically updates the currency fields accordingly.
🔑 Get Access Keys for Providers
Get a Free Access Key – ExchangeRate.host
ExchangeRate.host offers a 100% free API with both live and historical currency data - 100 request/Month free.
- Visit https://exchangerate.host/signup/free
- Click Get Free API Key and register with your email.
- Confirm your email and copy the Access Key from your dashboard.
- In Odoo, go to Accounting → Configuration → Settings and paste it into ExchangeRate.host Access Key.
Get a Free App ID – Open Exchange Rates
Open Exchange Rates provides highly accurate and reliable exchange data through both free (1000 request/Month free) and paid plans.
- Go to https://openexchangerates.org/signup/free
- Sign up for a free account and log into your dashboard.
- Copy your App ID from the API credentials section.
- Paste it into Odoo under Open Exchange Rates App ID in Accounting Settings.

1. Configure Provider & API Keys
Go to Accounting → Configuration → Settings, select your company, and choose a currency provider. Fill in your API keys for Open Exchange Rates or ExchangeRate Host.
2. Enable Manual Currency on Invoice
Open any invoice/bill/sale order/purchase order, check Apply Manual Currency, and enter your custom rate if needed.
3. Fetch Historic Rate
Click Fetch Rate to automatically retrieve historical rates based on the invoice date. The system will validate and apply the rate to your transaction.
4. Rate Applied Successfully
Once applied, the invoice or order shows the updated currency rate and totals. Historical or manual rates are clearly marked for review.

Installation
