Order Tracker.
Order Tracker adds a simplified fast-entry form where staff quickly capture customer orders with products and quantities in seconds, then one click automatically creates a proper Sale Order in Odoo's Sales module — bridging informal order capture with formal sales processing.
Key Features:
- Quick Order Creation with Auto Sequence:Every order tracker record gets an automatic reference number with prefix OT (OT00001, OT00002) generated from an ir.sequence. The form is deliberately minimal — customer, price list, product lines — so field staff or reception can record an order in under one minute without navigating complex Odoo sale order screens.
- Product Line Management with Auto Subtotal:The product lines tab allows adding multiple products with quantity selection. The price pulls automatically from the product's list price as a read-only related field. Subtotal calculates automatically via an onchange on quantity.
- One-Click Sale Order Confirmation: The Confirm button on the order tracker form automatically creates a complete sale.order record in the Odoo Sales module with all product lines, quantities, and prices correctly mapped. The order tracker then moves to Done state and stores the generated sale order ID.
- Menu Hiding per User :The module extends res.users with a hide_menu_ids Many2many field allowing admin to select specific menu items to hide for each user. It also extends ir.ui.menu with a restrict_user_ids field — hide menus from the user side or restrict menus from the menu side.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Order Tracker and a standard Odoo Sale Order?
Order Tracker is a simplified fast-entry form for quick order capture — minimal fields, instant product line calculation. When confirmed it automatically creates a full proper Sale Order in Odoo's backend.
Can the same product be added multiple times in the product lines?
Yes — the product lines are a standard One2many editable list.
What happens to the Order Tracker record after confirming?
After clicking Confirm the order tracker state changes to Done, the Confirm button disappears, and a Sale Order is automatically created in the Sales module with all product lines.
Can I hide any Odoo menu from a specific user?
Yes — go to Settings → Users → select the user → find the Hide Specific Menu tab → add the menus you want to hide for that user.
