Overview
This module builds a dedicated employee self service experience on top of the Odoo Portal. HR teams can create portal users directly from employee records and let employees manage day-to-day HR operations without backend access. All portal actions stay connected to native Odoo backend records for employees, attendance, timesheets, leave, expenses, and maintenance.
Features
- Create a portal user from the employee form and maintain the employee link from the user form through a dedicated Portal Employee tab.
- Redirect linked portal employees to a dashboard-style self service homepage designed for mobile and desktop use.
- Show a portal header with account dropdown, logout, notifications, and direct check in or check out access.
- Let employees check in and check out from the portal while writing directly to backend attendance and showing a live working timer.
- Enforce previous working day timesheet completion before check in using configurable required daily hours from Timesheets settings.
- Optionally auto-checkout open portal attendances at 12:00 AM through a company setting.
- Allow employees to edit their own HR profile details and review a read-only organization chart together with remaining leave information.
- Create and review timesheets in modal forms with required description, project-based task filtering, and 20 records per page.
- Display attendance history with compact date filters, current-month defaults, and print-ready reports in Odoo company layout.
- Create and track time off requests directly in the backend leave module while limiting leave types to approved employee allocations.
- Create and review expense claims and maintenance requests directly from the portal with backend-connected statuses.
- Support actionable notification dropdowns with unread count reduction once the employee opens a notification.
Configuration
Install the module together with the standard Odoo HR applications it depends on. After that, HR users can open an employee record, create the linked portal user, and the employee will be redirected to the self service dashboard on portal login. In Timesheets settings, companies can configure required daily timesheet hours and enable automatic midnight checkout for open portal attendances.
