Ping Identity is an enterprise identity provider that offers secure user authentication and Single Sign-On (SSO). Integrating Ping Identity with Odoo allows users to log in using their Ping credentials, enhancing security and simplifying access. This integration uses OAuth2 to authenticate users, retrieve their profile data, and create sessions in Odoo without requiring local passwords.
Go to https://www.pingidentity.com. Sign up for a new account if you don't have one, or log in if you already do.
Once logged in, go to Administrators from the left sidebar, then navigate to the Dashboard.
In the left sidebar, click on Applications, then select Applications again from the dropdown menu.
Click the + button on the Applications page to create a new application.
Enter the Application Name and Description
Choose an Application Type (e.g., OIDC Web App) .
Click the Save Button to Add the Application
In the Overview tab, click the OpenID Connect button to set the Redirect URL.
In the OIDC Settings navigate to Redirect URIs Section
Enter the Redirect URIs. This is the URL to which Ping Ientity will redirect after successful authentication.
For example: https://your-odoo-instance/auth_oauth/ping/signin
Click the Save button.
Navigate to Resources tab.
Click the Edit button and select the desired scopes.
For example: openid, email, and profile.
Click the Save button to apply the changes.
Navigate to the Configuration tab.
Under the General section, you will find the Client ID, Client Secret, and Environment ID. Copy these credentials for integration with Odoo.
Click the Save button to apply the settings.
Navigate to settings and under the Developer Tools, Click on Activate the developer mode.
Navigate to settings > Users & Companies > Click on OAuth Providers
Click on the Sign in with Ping Identity
Generate and enter your Ping Identity credentials (Client ID, Secret Key, Environment ID) and mark allowed true, Save the changes in Record.
Click on Log in with Ping Identity
Upon successful authentication, New User will be created for the first time login and later users can log in with Ping Identity.
