POS eID Scan (Belgium)

Scan Belgian eID cards and instantly create customers in Odoo Point of Sale

Why use POS eID Scan?

  • Fast customer identification: Identify customers in seconds using their Belgian eID card.
  • No lost receipts: Every POS sale can be linked to a verified customer.
  • Reduced typing errors: Address and identity data come directly from the official eID.
  • Seamless POS experience: Works directly inside the POS interface.

How it works

  1. Install and run the local eID Bridge application
  2. Connect a Belgian eID card reader to your POS computer
  3. Open a sale in Odoo Point of Sale
  4. Click Customer then click Scan ID
  5. Insert the customer's Belgian eID card
  6. The customer is created and linked automatically

After scanning the eID card, the customer form opens automatically, allowing you to review and complete additional information.

Data captured from the eID card

  • First name(s) and surname
  • Street and house number
  • ZIP code and city
  • Country (automatically set to Belgium)
  • National number (stored internally)
  • Customer photo
