Helpdesk Jira Connector User Manual
Overview
A help desk is the first point of contact for customers and employees alike.
When employees need someone to troubleshoot a printer, upgrade security on a laptop, or give them access to a new system,
it’s the help desk to the rescue. When customers can’t get into their systems, need help with setup, or encounter a bug,
it’s the help desk that typically gets a call.
Help desk software enables support agents to provide quick and easy answers to help seekers.
The right help desk software makes it simple for agents to organize, prioritize, and resolve requests so nothing falls through the cracks.
Keeping this in mind Pragmatic Techsoft Pvt Ltd has built a module which integrates Odoo and Jira helpdesk to automatically synchronise all
the tickets of Jira into Odoo.
Jira Interface :-
Step 1 : Create a project in Jira by clicking on the create project button.

Step 2 : Enter details for creating projects.

Odoo Interface :-
Step 3 : Sign In to Odoo Admin Account → Go to Settings → Companies Jira Configuration which allows following operations:
For Jira Token Generation follow these steps :
Go to Go to https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/api-tokens-938839638.html as shown below.


Enter the Instance URL , Jira Login(Email ID) , Jira Token as shown below.

Once all the details are entered, click on “Test Connection”. If Authentication is successful then below message will come

Step 4 : Import from jira and click on the import project button.

Step 5: For Export tickets to Jira follow shown below screenshots.




Step 6: Users can also import/export the following above mentioned details automatically by using cron as shown below.



Note :
Following are ways to set priority at Jira Account.
1. Go to Jira Account Open Any Jira Project, Then Click on any Issue related to that project.
2. On the Issue click on " Configure ", As screenshot is given below.

3. On the Configure page, There is Priority Option-click on that. It's going to be set for that project. Follow screenshot.

Import Timesheet from Jira:
The time spent on each ticket, along with a description of the work, will be imported from Jira into Odoo.
Step 1: Before importing issues, some configuration is required for Helpdesk Tickets.Enable the boolean field that allows timesheets to be displayed on Helpdesk Tickets.

Step2 : After that simple click on import issue then issue will import along with helpdesk ticket.



Export Timesheet from Odoo:
Before exporting the time spent on tickets from Odoo to Jira, you need to enable certain settings. If you're exporting timesheets directly from Odoo to Jira, this setup is required; otherwise, it's not necessary.

Step2 : Click on the Screen Schemes option, then search for your project using the project key.

Step 3: Search for the project using the project key, and open both menus one by one.

Step 4: Click on the project name that appears on the screen.

Step 5: Search for 'Work Log', then add 'Log Work' here. After that, go back.

Step 6: Open the second screen and repeat the steps from Step 4 and Step 5.

Step 7: Then we can export the timesheet from Odoo to Jira.

How the Odoo-Jira connector works
Hello, my name is Francisco Toro, the Technology Director of my company, and I'm looking to acquire an integration between Odoo Helpdesk and Jira with its Service Desk module. Ideally, the integration would receive issues created in Jira and automatically create and update them in the Odoo Helpdesk module. Any updates we make to the issue in Odoo would be automatically reflected in the Jira issue. Does your connector work this way?

We have shared this query to the technical team and kindly find the response for the same.
Our connector provides bidirectional synchronization between Odoo Helpdesk and Jira Service Desk. Updates made in Jira are automatically reflected in Odoo, and new Jira tickets created in Odoo can be exported to Jira manually.
If you would like the export from Odoo to Jira to run automatically using cron jobs, this will require some customization. Once configured, the cron-based workflow will ensure seamless synchronization of ticket updates in both directions for active Jira users.
Currently, cron jobs are available for importing tickets, while exporting tickets would require additional customization at an extra cost.
