The pragtech_sale_markup is a custom module designed to empower sales teams with precise pricing control by introducing Cost Price, Markup % and Margin % fields directly in the Sale Order Line.
This feature allows users to set a markup percentage, automatically calculate the selling price and instantly view the profit margin - all within the sales order form ensuring informed and consistent pricing decisions without leaving the Odoo interface.

Installation
To install the module, you need to go to the Apps menu and remove the filter from the search bar and type the module name pragtech_sale_markup, and click on the Activate button.
Workflow
When a Sale Quotation is created and a product is added, the Markup % field becomes available; entering a value in this field automatically recalculates the Unit Price based on the product’s Cost Price, and the Margin % is also computed to reflect the profit percentage.
When entering a negative value in the Markup % field while creating or editing a Sale Quotation, the system will not allow the entry and will immediately display a popup error message stating that the markup percentage should not be negative. This validation helps prevent incorrect pricing and ensures only valid positive markup values are accepted.

The “Markup %” is a manual input field. When entered, it calculates the sale price (price_unit) using the formula:
Sale Price = Cost Price × (1 + Markup / 100)
If the markup is not set, the system falls back to using the product’s list price (list_price) as the sale price.
No, entering a negative markup will raise a validation error to prevent accidental price reductions below cost.
The “Margin %” shows the profit margin relative to the sale price. It is automatically calculated using the formula:
Margin % = ((Sale Price - Cost Price) / Sale Price) × 100
