Product variant Restrict

The Product Variant Restriction in the POS module provides enhanced control over selling specific product variants in designated shops or POS locations. This functionality ensures that only authorized variants are available for sale at specific shops, preventing accidental or unauthorized transactions. This results in improved operational control, inventory accuracy, and better adherence to business rules.

Configuration

  • Configure Your Products: Within the Sale module, access the product variants that you want to exclude counters for. This can be done by going to the Products -> Product Variants section.

  • Now select the product you want to restrict in a particular POS. Go to the sales sub menu and add the POS in which you want to restrict that variant.

  • After doing above mentioned configuration odoo will give error while selling that product in POS.

  • Note: This functionality will work in variants only. If you want to restrict it at the product level, you can set that, but you will encounter an error during the payment step. The same flow applies when adding products via a barcode scanner.
