Project and Task Unique Sequence Numbering
This Odoo app automatically generates a unique sequence number for both projects and project tasks, ensuring structured and systematic identification. Refer to the screenshots below for detailed implementation.
- Main Features
- 1. Auto Generated Unique Project Number
The system automatically generates a unique sequence number for each project.
If a custom prefix is provided on the project form, it will be used to generate the sequence number.
If no custom prefix is specified, a default/common prefix will be applied to generate project numbers. - 2. Auto Generated Unique Task Number
Each task created within a project will have a unique sequence number generated based on the task sequence defined on the project form.
When a new project is created, the system automatically generates an ir.sequence record for tasks under that project.
This sequence is then used to assign unique task numbers.
The Task Entry Sequence field on the project form defines the numbering format for all tasks within that project. - 3. General Task Sequence for Standalone Tasks
If a task is created without selecting a project, the system generates a unique task number using a general/common sequence instead of a project specific sequence. - 4. Automatic Sequence Regeneration on Project Change
If the project assigned to a task is changed, the system automatically regenerates and reassigns a new sequence number based on the newly selected project. - For more details, refer to the screenshots below and watch the demonstration video.
