Managing Restricted Access to Projects and Tasks

Project and Task Access Restrictions for Limited Users

Project and Task Access Limitations for Specific Users

This application enables the restriction of backend access for specific internal users, allowing them to only view and interact with projects and tasks to which they have been explicitly granted access. Access permissions are assigned on a per project and per task basis, ensuring users can only access the resources they are authorized to manage.

Main Features:

  • Creation of "View Limited Projects and Tasks" Group: The application automatically creates a new user group called View Limited Projects and Tasks. This group provides restricted access to projects and tasks within the system.
  • Assigning Access to Internal Users: When you assign the View Limited Projects and Tasks group to an internal user, that users access is limited to only those projects and tasks where they have been specifically assigned in the Access Limited Users field on the project and task forms.
  • Restricted Visibility in Projects and Tasks: After logging in, users assigned to the View Limited Projects and Tasks group will only be able to view projects and tasks that have their user account listed in the Access Limited Users field. This ensures restricted visibility to only the relevant resources.
  • Behavior for Users Without the Group: For users who are not assigned the View Limited Projects and Tasks group, access will be governed by the default Odoo record rules for projects and tasks. This means these users will have standard access rights according to the systems default configuration.
