Install Screen Lock using PIN from Odoo Apps
Navigate to the Apps menu in Odoo and search for Screen Lock using PIN. Once found, install the app to enable secure PIN-based screen locking for your Odoo users.
Configure PIN Enable Screen Lock
After installation, go to Settings → Users and open any user form. You will find a dedicated Screen Lock tab where you can configure a numeric PIN. This PIN will be used to securely unlock the screen when it is locked.
Configure PIN from User Preferences
Users can also configure or update their screen lock PIN directly from the top-right user menu. Click on your username, open the dropdown, and select Preferences. At the bottom of the Preferences page, you will find the Screen Lock section where you can set or change the PIN used to unlock the screen.
Lock Screen Quick Access
To lock your screen, simply click on your username located at the top-right corner of the screen. From the dropdown menu, select the Lock Screen option. The screen will be locked immediately and can only be unlocked by entering the correct PIN, ensuring your workspace remains secure.
Unlock Screen Using PIN
When the screen is locked, a secure popup wizard appears on the screen. Enter your configured PIN in the input field and click the Unlock button to regain access to your Odoo session. The screen will only unlock if the entered PIN matches the one configured for the logged-in user.
Incorrect PIN Validation Message
If an incorrect PIN is entered while unlocking the screen, the system immediately displays an Incorrect PIN message. The screen remains locked until the correct PIN is provided, ensuring maximum security and preventing unauthorized access.
Automatic Screen Lock Inactivity Timeout
The screen lock module includes an inactivity timeout feature. Administrators can configure the number of minutes in the screen lock settings. If no user activity is detected within the specified time, the system automatically locks the screen. This ensures enhanced security by preventing unauthorized access when the user is away from their workstation.
