Odoo18 Purchase Revision Advanced

This module easily manage changes to purchase orders with flexible revision options. From the settings, you can decide whether revisions should apply only to confirmed purchase orders or to all orders. When revising, simply choose whether to update the existing revision number or create a new purchase order with the revised number. This ensures clear tracking, better control, and improved accuracy in your procurement process.

Enable the Revision from settings.

Enable Revision from settings( When any purchase order or RFQ's are cancelled Revise button appears).There is the option to revise purchase orders in any state or only confirmed purchase orders.Also there is another option to create a new purchase order with a revised number linked to the original, or else Updates the revision number on the existing order without duplication.

Cancel Purchase order

Revision number will be updated based on our selection from settings(if revision on all orders selected, on cancelling the order, Revision will be possible, or if we have selected 'confirmed PO' then on cancelling the confirmed PO Revise button appears) Cancel the purchase order to get revision option.

Revise Cancelled Order

Click on Revise button on cancelled state.

Revision Number Updated

New PO number with updated Revision number.

View Revisions

If we have selected the duplicate order option, then we can view all the revised purchase orders .

What happens to the revision number when a confirmed Purchase Order is cancelled ?

When a confirmed Purchase Order is cancelled, the system allows the user to revise it, and the revision number is incremented.

Does cancelling an unconfirmed Purchase Order affect the revision number ?

When an unconfirmed Purchase Order is cancelled, the revision number is not affected since revisions apply only when the revision action is triggered, not on cancellation.

Can I manually change the revision number of a Purchase Order ?

Typically, the revision number is system-controlled and updated automatically during the revise action for all purchase orders.

What is the difference between “All Orders” and “Confirmed PO” in the Revision On setting?

All Orders → Revision is allowed on draft, RFQ, and confirmed purchase orders. Confirmed PO → Revision is restricted to only confirmed purchase orders.

What happens if I choose “Only Revision Number” in the Update setting?

The system will simply increment or update the revision number of the existing PO without creating a duplicate record.

What happens if I choose “Duplicate Order” in the Update setting?

The system creates a new purchase order with a revised number (using the defined prefix/suffix), while keeping a link to the original PO for traceability.

Can I customize the revision number format?

Yes, through the Revision Suffix field in settings. For example, you can use R1, R2… or -REV as suffixes.

How do I install the module after purchase ?

Extract the ZIP file and copy the module folder to your Odoo addons directory.

Which Odoo versions are supported ?

This module is available for Odoo 16,17,18 versions.
