Odoo18 ASSET: Quantity based dispose/sell
This module enables partial sale or disposal of asset quantities instead of disposing of the entire asset. It’s ideal for managing assets in bulk or grouped inventory where only a portion needs to be disposed or sold.
Key Highlights
Quantity-Based Asset Disposal/Sale
Dispose or sell multiple quantities from an asset record based on required quantity, rather than removing the entire asset.
Dynamic Depreciation Adjustment
When partial quantities are disposed or sold, the system automatically recalculates depreciation for only the remaining quantity. Example: If an asset has 4 units and 2 are disposed, depreciation will continue only for the remaining 2 units.
Accurate Accounting Entries
Generates correct accounting entries reflecting partial disposal/sale, including updated depreciation and asset value adjustments.
Supports Bulk Asset Management
Ideal for managing grouped or bulk assets (like tools, furniture, machines) where only part of the quantity is to be sold or scrapped.
Integrated with Odoo Asset Module
Seamlessly extends Odoo’s native asset functionality, with no major configuration or workflow changes required.
Multiple quantity
Assets will be created against a vendor bill line (configured inside account)
Quantity tracking inside Asset
Both Billed and Active quantity is visible from Asset form.
Dispose partially
Inside the Dispose wizard after from Modify Depreciation wizard, user can proved the quantity to dispose.
Partial disposal inside depreciation line
If the dispose quantity is less than the available asset quantity then the a partial disposal line will be generated. The rest of the depreciation continues for the remaining quantity.
Disposal Entry
Based on the date of disposal depreciation amount will update to Asset expense account and loss account.
Partial Sell
Partial sale of asset entry can be done from the same Modify depreciation wizard. The sell amount completely depends on the invoice and invoice lines chosed inside the wizard
Partial Sale inside depreciation line
If the sell quantity is less than the available asset quantity then the a partial sale line will be generated. The rest of the depreciation continues for the remaining quantity.
Sale Entry
Based on the date of Sale depreciation, amount will update to Asset expense account, Invoice line account and loss account.
