Set Up
Begin by downloading the Odoo Notification Bell System module to your system.
- Once you install the Odoo Notification Bell System App from the Odoo Apps, it's easy to locate.
- Simply search for the name, and you can identify it by the Odoo Notification Bell System icon. Ta-da, you are ready to go!!
Apps >> Odoo Notification Bell System >> Activate
Inside the company settings, you will find a 'Notification Configuration' tab.
This tab contains two configuration options:
Notification After Days - Enter the number of days after which notifications should be deleted.
Notification Delete Scope - Choose the scope of deletion:
- All (Read and Unread) - Deletes all notifications.
- Only Read - Deletes only the notifications that have been marked as read.
To give access to a particular user as a Notification User or Notification Manager, go to
Settings > Users & Companies > Users and select the user.
Next, assign the correct access rights as per the user's role.
To assign roles, select 'Manager' or 'User' under the Notification group in the user settings. (Currently, we have set the access level to Manager.)
Work Flow
To generate a notification, navigate to the Notifications > Generate Notification menu. Click on the menu item.
You can see that a form view is open with various fields.
In the Title field, you need to enter the notification's title.
In the 'To Users' field, select the users you want to send the notification to. You can also select multiple users.
In the 'Type' field, you can specify the notification type, such as Information, Warning, Success, or Danger.
The notification will be displayed accordingly based on the selected type.
In the 'Message' field, enter the message you want to display in the notification.
In the Odoo popup notifications view, you will find sound mute and unmute options, allowing users to set it according to their preference.
In the Odoo notification pop-up, you will find a button 'Mark All as Read'.
If the user wants to mark all notifications as read, they can simply click the 'Mark All as Read' button.
In the notification popup, you will find a button 'Clear All Read Notifications'.
The button will remove all notifications that have already been read.
