Repair & Service Order Management
Device intake, diagnosis, parts+labour quoting, warranty check, repair, delivery and invoicing
Repair & Service Order Management is a self-contained repair/service workflow for any workshop, phone, laptop, appliance, vehicle accessory or generic device, built directly on Inventory and Sales without depending on Odoo's own Repair app. Every device follows the same lifecycle from intake through diagnosis, parts and labour quoting, warranty-aware pricing, real stock consumption and delivery with invoicing.
Key Features
Device intake and full lifecycle
Log the customer, device and reported fault at intake, then move the order through Received, Diagnosing, Quoted, Approved, Repairing, Done and Delivered, with Cancel available at any non-terminal step and a progress bar on the form.
Parts + labour quoting
Add the spare parts used (quantity, unit price, cost) and labour performed (hours x hourly rate); quote total, warranty discount and billable amount are computed automatically.
Warranty-aware pricing
Record the customer's purchase date and warranty period; a device still under warranty is billed at zero for parts and/or labour automatically, configurable per repair.
Real quotation and invoice generation
Setting the quote creates a genuine Sales quotation with parts and labour as order lines (warranty waiver applied as a line discount); approving confirms the sale order, delivery invoices it into a genuine account.move.
Real parts consumption from stock
Starting the repair checks parts availability and creates genuine validated stock.move records consuming each part from the source location into a dedicated Repair Consumption location.
Parts-availability guard
A repair cannot be started if the required parts are not available in sufficient quantity, with an itemised shortage message listing exactly what is missing.
Profit margin tracking
The billable amount versus the parts' cost is rolled up into a live profit-margin percentage for every repair order.
Full audit trail
Chatter and activities (mail.thread/mail.activity.mixin) track diagnosis start, quoting, approval, repair start, completion and delivery on every order.

Why Choose This Module
Because pricing, warranty waiver and the state machine all live in one small pure-python engine, and every quote, stock move and invoice this module creates is a genuine Odoo document (sale.order, stock.move, account.move), a workshop gets a real audit trail end to end instead of a bolt-on tracker that lives outside the accounting and inventory it is supposed to reflect.
