Relocate Reserved Quants for Sales

This module extends the stock quant relocation wizard in Odoo to provide smarter inventory management by automatically updating related stock moves and move lines during quant relocation. Specifically, when relocating quants from one location to another, the system checks for related stock moves pointing to reservation locations and updates their source locations accordingly. This ensures stock move records are always aligned with the actual physical movement of inventory, reducing errors and improving traceability.

Before implementing this module, internal transfers of reserved stock would break the reservation link, causing the products to appear as available even though they were still committed to a sales order. This led to confusion in stock availability and required the warehouse teams to manually reapply the reservation after each internal transfer, resulting in operational delays and increasing the risk of human error. Additionally, in Odoos default behavior, there was a lack of visibility in the movement history of reserved stock, making it difficult to track internal transfers or maintain reservation accuracy.

With this module installed, internal relocations of reserved stock are handled automatically and intelligently. The system preserves existing reservations by updating related stock moves and move lines during the relocation process, ensuring that reservation links remain intact and stock levels remain accurate. A relocate history is maintained for each reservation, providing full traceability of internal movements. The module integrates seamlessly with Odoos stock quant relocation wizard, requiring no additional user actions while enhancing backend processes. This results in improved inventory accuracy, reduced manual work, and better support for tracking across complex warehouse operations.

Main Features:

• Relocation History Tracking:
  • Adds an HTML field Relocate History on stock move reservations to store a detailed log of all internal relocations performed.
• Preserve Reserved Quantities:
  • When products with sales reservations are relocated, their reservation status remains intact—ensuring sales or other downstream processes are not disrupted.
• Seamless Integration with Stock Quant Relocation:
  • Enhances the default quant relocation wizard to include backend updates for related stock moves and move lines.
• Automatic Update of Stock Moves:
  • When quants are relocated, any related stock.move records with matching source and reservation destination locations are automatically updated to reflect the new source location.
• Auto Update of Move Lines:
  • Ensures associated stock.move.line records are also updated with the new location if they match the quants lot/package conditions.
• Reservation Location Detection:
  • Dynamically identifies the reservation location configured in your warehouse setup (is_stock_location_reservation), requiring no hardcoded location values.
