Installation

To install the module, you need to go to the App menu and remove the filter from the search bar and type the module name sap_odoo_connector, and click on the “Activate” button.

Configuration

Click the menu icon and select the option labeled ‘SAP - Odoo Connector’.
Then, click the visible record to open it’s from view.
Two methods are available for performing data transactions.
Method 1:

Connection Type - Local

Note:

Using this method, you need to provide the paths of two folders from your local system. 1st folder path - from where Odoo will fetch the data exported from SAP &

2nd folder path - where Odoo will save the file containing the data exported from Odoo

Method 2:

Connection Type - OData Service

Note:

Using this method, you need to provide the following details:

  1. Username
  2. Password
  3. URI provided by SAP for the specific infotype service
  • One URI with JSON format
  • Another URI without any specific format

This method can be used for real-time data transfer between both platforms.

Workflow

After setting the connection type to ‘Local’, follow the workflow below.
As shown in screenshot no.: 1.2, the data in SAP will be exported in XLSX format and then imported into Odoo.

The screenshot below shows the following:

  • After specifying the import folder path, click the “Import data” button to start the import process.
  • The data is successfully imported into Odoo - all 20 records have been imported

(Refer Screenshot No.: 1.3 & 1.4).

As shown in screenshot no. 1.5, 1.6 & 1.7,

  • Changes were made to the “First name” & “Last name” fields
  • After saving, the data was exported successfully from Odoo in XLSX format for import into SAP.

Yes. The module supports scheduled automation for both import and export processes. File transfers and data synchronization can be set to run at specific intervals without manual intervention.

3. What file formats are supported by the connector?

The system logs the error and displays a clear message. Since automation will be enabled, the import and export process will automatically execute again in the next iteration.

5. Is the connector secure? How is data transferred?

Yes, it’s secure. Data is transferred using encrypted API calls or secure file exchange protocols like SFTP.

6. Can the connector be extended to sync other HR data like payroll or attendance?
