How the Stock Valuation Report Works
Our module provides a data-centric approach to Odoo Inventory reporting. By utilizing Odoo's internal Stock Moves and Valuation Layers, the system fetches real-time data based on your filters. For every report generated, the module dynamically calculates Opening and Closing balances by analyzing stock history between your selected dates. This ensures that your financial and warehouse insights remain accurate and up-to-date. Whether you are using FIFO, AVCO, or Standard Price, the system automatically aggregates costs, providing maximum audit visibility while maintaining a clean and interactive interface for warehouse managers and accountants alike.
Accessing the Inventory Valuation Report
Navigate to the Inventory module and go to the Reporting menu. You will find the new menu item Inventory And Stock Valuation Report. Clicking this will open a user-friendly wizard that allows you to configure your report parameters, including date ranges, warehouses, and product categories.
Quick Access: The reporting tool is integrated directly into the standard Inventory reporting structure, making it easy for warehouse managers to generate valuation insights instantly.
Configure Report Parameters & Filters
The wizard provides highly flexible options to customize your report. You can select a From Date and To Date for period-specific analysis. Use the Filter By option to choose between individual Products or entire Product Categories. Additionally, you can generate reports based on specific Warehouses or Locations, allowing for granular tracking across your entire supply chain.
Flexible Export: Choose between Print PDF for a clean document view or Print Excel for advanced data analysis and custom calculations.
Comprehensive Report Output & Analysis
The final report provides a detailed breakdown of your inventory. It includes critical data points such as Costing Method, Current Stock, Incoming/Outgoing quantities, Internal Transfers, and Adjustments. The report automatically calculates the Ending Stock and provides the total Stock Valuation, giving you a complete financial picture of your warehouse assets.
Accurate Totals: All stock movements are tracked precisely using stock move history, ensuring that your Ending Stock matches your real-time physical inventory.
Category-wise & Location-based Excel Export
The module offers advanced flexibility by allowing you to filter reports by Product Categories
and specific Locations simultaneously. This is ideal for multi-location businesses
who need to analyze stock levels in specific zones like Stock, Partners, or Customers.
By clicking Print Excel, the system generates a professional XLSX file,
powered by xlsxwriter, perfect for deep data auditing and spreadsheet management.
Data Precision: Exporting to Excel allows you to utilize filters and formulas on your stock data, making it easier to handle large inventories with multiple internal locations.

The Excel output is designed for high-density data management. It provides a clean, tabular view of all products, featuring Cost Prices, Costing Methods, and a full movement audit (Incoming, Outgoing, Internal, and Adjustments).
