Product Profitability Report
The Product Profitability Report application is designed to help businesses evaluate the financial performance of their products in Odoo. It generates a detailed report that combines sales and cost data to calculate gross profit and profit margins for each product.
The module focuses on presenting key metrics that matter most to decision-makers: Quantity Sold, Sales Revenue, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), Gross Profit, and Profit Margin (%). By consolidating this information into a single, easy-to-read PDF, the application enables managers, accountants, and business owners to quickly identify profitable and underperforming products.

Accessing the Report
To access the report, go to the Inventory application, open the Reporting menu, and click on Product Profitability. This menu is the starting point for generating profitability insights.
Applying Filters with the Wizard
Once the menu is opened, a wizard will appear. This wizard allows you to select optional filters to refine your report. You can specify Date Range, Product, Category, Warehouse, or Location. Each filter is entirely optional, so you can either narrow the scope or leave everything blank to include all records up to today. The wizard also includes action buttons â Print to generate the report or Cancel to exit.
Viewing and Understanding the Report
After clicking Print, the system generates a PDF report that summarizes product profitability. The top of the report shows the selected filters for clarity. The table within the report presents each product with the following metrics: Quantity Sold, Sales Revenue, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), Gross Profit, and Profit Margin (%)
This format allows businesses to quickly identify profitable products and detect those generating losses, enabling smarter decisions.
