Show / Hide Chatter Messages & Log Notes
Declutter the chatter. Hide the Messages tab, the Log Notes tab, or both on every form view - cleanly and from one Settings screen.
Global Toggles
Two checkboxes under Settings -> Chatter Notification Settings control Messages and Log Notes visibility across every form in the database.
Inline Filters
Every chatter exposes its own Show Messages / Show Log Note checkboxes in the top bar so users can drill in on the record they are viewing.
Works on Every Model
Applies to Sale Orders, Purchase Orders, Invoices, Tasks, CRM Leads, and every other model that uses the standard Odoo chatter.
Clean Empty State
When both Messages and Log Notes are hidden, the chatter stays empty and date separators collapse cleanly. No orphan headers left behind.
Live Updates
Toggling the inline filters takes effect instantly without reloading the page or losing the active record.
Lightweight & Safe
No new menus, no extra database tables. Just two system parameters plus a minimal chatter patch - only Settings users can change the defaults.
Compatibility Notice
This module is tested and certified to work with the vanilla (standard, unmodified) edition of Odoo Community and Enterprise. It depends on the standard Discuss / Mail module and patches the default chatter component.
If your Discuss / Mail module or any third-party chatter customization (custom message types, alternative chatter UI, etc.) has been modified by another developer, the show/hide filters may not apply as expected. Please contact our support team before purchasing if you are running a heavily customized Odoo instance.
